Greg Tenold: Home

I like to write music that inspires and moves people to envision themselves and the world in a more positive way. Lately, some of my material might be classified as folk songs. I like to think of them as songs to uplift the consciousness—as instructive reminders for Americans of all political and religious persuasion to seek the highest vision for themselves and for all people.

The song “Stand Up America!” grew out of my concern about America’s actions in invading Iraq. The lyrics are a call for Americans of all religious and spiritual backgrounds to examine their belief systems and ask themselves the questions: “Is this war really in tune with what we know to be right?” “Are we being honest with ourselves and with our children?” “Do our actions match what we are taught in our religious upbringing?” Listen to the lyrics and answer these questions for yourself.

The song “Bless Our World” is a call for us to bless all the people of the world—no exceptions!

I’ve recently added three new songs to the website: There’ll Come a Time, Walk to the Rhythm, and Satin Casket. These songs were recorded in a studio in Rhode Island by my dear friend, LeRoy White. I owe the inspiration and lyrics to the song, Satin Casket, to my songwriting co-author and college roommate, Norman Langberg.

Although I have written songs for many years, it is only recently that I have begun to record much of the material. The songs found on the “Music” page on this site are not out in CD at this time, but you are free to download them in MP3 format or listen to them off your computer. It is my desire to see my music reach the broadest possible audience. If you have a desire to perform or record the material found on this site, please contact me to obtain permission.

Enjoy!
